How the national scheme works
The number is the Número de Registro issued through the Ventanilla Única Digital de Arrendamientos (VUDA) / Registro at the Colegio de Registradores.
Key compliance checks
- The number is mandatory from 1 July 2025 for booking-platform advertising.
- It is separate from the regional tourism licence, which is still required.
- Fines can reach €500,000 depending on the comunidad autónoma; listings can be removed if the number is missing.
EU rules in force since 20 May 2026
Under Regulation (EU) 2024/1028, since 20 May 2026 platforms must collect, display and periodically verify registration numbers and share activity data with authorities. Unregistered listings can be removed.
